HAPPY EW YEAR... I MEAN NEW YEAR ~

2020 is finally coming to an end oh my fucking god. I think I’m speaking for everybody when I say that we’re ready to kiss 2020 goodbye. But we’re not totally sure about 2021 either lol.

Like for anyone else, this year has been shitty but I have to say that in terms of nail art it was a good year. I have tried new techniques and stepped out of my comfort zone. I think that I never painted my nails that much in one year than in 2020 lol. The whole COVID, quarantine and working from home thing has something to do with it lol. It’s pretty ironic when you think of it because I never met less people than this year so I had no one to show my nails to irl lol. But I did them so I can stare at them during hours.

For this new year nail art, I went for the classic stuff aka glitter, stars and a clock. It’s a shame that the glitter are not that visible on the picture. I used a polish from OPI for this nail art. I got it in their “Shine Bright” advent calendar. When I saw it for the first time, I found it really pretty but tbh it’s prettier in the bottle than on the nails and the application was not it either, the texture was sticky. So I have mixed feelings about this polish. Usually, I like OPI polishes tho, let’s just say that this polish is like 2020... deceiving lol.

XMAS 2020 NAIL ART PT. 7 : A MERRY AND YUMMY CHRISTMAS ~

It’s Christmas Eve and so here’s the last nail art of the year. I decided to not use the traditional christmas colors and go full on girly like for this nail art I did last year

So for this mani, I did some gingerbread man, candy canes, stars, hearts and candy on my pointer and ring fingernails. I know I draw a lot of gingerbread man and candy canes for someone who’ve never ate neither of them but they are a staple on Christmas. On my middle fingernail, I did some stripes to represent a candy cane and finally put some pink glitter on my pinky fingernail.

I really like this mani, it’s definitely my fave one of this year.

XMAS 2020 NAIL ART PT. 6 : WINTER MIX’N’MATCH ~

This christmas serie is nearly coming to an end but don’t worry I have a last nail art to share with you tomorrow. And not to brag or what but the last one is definitely my fave.

Back to the nail art of the day, I did a a snowman on my pointer fingernail, a christmas tree on my middle fingernail and sweater pattern on my ring fingernail. I feel like this whole mani gives off christmas sweater vibes.

XMAS 2020 NAIL ART PT. 5 : PLAID & HOLLY WREATH ~

Christmas is closer and closer which means that I have another nail art for you! This one is probably one of my favorites of this year.

For this mani, I drew plaid pattern on my pointer and ring fingernails and a holly wreath on my middle fingernail. I remember when I was a kid we used to hang this on our front door. And on my pinky nail, I did a glitter gradient.

This nail art was inspired by NailArt_ByGracie on Instagram.

XMAS 2020 NAIL ART PT. 3 : DO YOU WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN ? ~

For this third christmas nail art, we’re building a snowman! -I just had a hard realization which is that Frozen 2 is one of the last movies I was able to see in a theater before all of that-.

For this nail art, I used a pink polish from OPI that I got in their “Shine Bright” advent calendar. I got it for a good price thanks to my best friend who found an interesting deal for me. I only had CiatĂ© advent calendar until now so I’m glad I could try one from another brand. I know that pink isn’t necessarily a christmas color but I saw this design on Pinterest and really liked it. I got this polish around the same time and it was exactly the same color as the picture so it was definitely a sign for me to do this nail art. I feel like the pearl finish makes this color a great fit for christmas as if it gives like a frozen effect to the mani. I really like how the whole mani turned out.

Next week, I will be posting everyday till Christmas Eve to share more magic I guess lol and create a little advent calendar.

XMAS 2020 NAIL ART PT. 2 : THE POLAR BEAR IN THE SNOW ~

Here’s the second christmas nail art of the serie. So for this mani, I was inspired by HannahRoxIt’s tuto that she posted on her IGTV. I adapted her designs for my long nails. For this nail art, I used for the very first time glitter loose powder that I had in the CiatĂ© 2015 (wow!) Advent Calendar. I’m not saying that this is the first and last time that I’m gonna use glitter loose powder but all I’m saying that this is really messy to use lol. And it’s not even that visible on the picture lol. But I swear, irl it gave that frosty effect which is really perfect for this nail art.

XMAS 2020 NAIL ART PT. 1 : CANDY CANES & GINGERBREAD MAN ~

Christmas season is definitely here and so are Christmas manis!

I'm not you know THAT fan of Christmas, the one who's excited about christmas songs and movies. But Christmas nail art just hit different, there is something special about it.

So as my first Christmas nail art of the season, I decided to do a yummy one with candy canes and a gingerbread man (funny because I never ate neither of them). I really like it turned out and the colors are really great together.

SPACE ODDITY ~

Here’s the last non-christmas related nail art before a long time lol. So I decided to do a galaxy mani which really looks similar to the one I posted months ago. I even used the same Essie black polish than back then.

I think the secret of this nail art is in the way of create the planet. You have to mix the two colors together but not too much in order to create a marbled effect. Once you’ve done that, you just have to add some white dots and stars and voilĂ ! Pretty simple and the result is cool. I obviously used holo because it’s just perfect for galaxy designs. I like how colorful this mani is.

This nail art was inspired by XNailsByEmyX on Instagram.

Starting next week, I’ll be back to my old schedule by posting only once a week. But I won’t post any nail art no! I will post christmas nail art lol. I don’t really have any idea at the moment but hopefully the christmas spirit will help me.

EARLY CHRISTMAS ~

I feel like this mani could be perfect for christmas especially because I used red and gold together. Btw, speaking of christmas, I will be posting only christmas related nail art during all the month of december. I don’t know if I will top 2019 christmas but I will try lol. I really liked the designs I did last year.

For this nail art, I didn’t really have a plan. I just took a red and a gold polish and drew random patterns. It kinda turned cool lol.

ALL EYES ON YOU ~

This nail art is giving off many different vibes lol. I don’t know, the red with the blue stripes reminds me of a flag, a soccer jersey (not that I know anything about soccer lol), a circus tent and so on lol.

For this mani, I did blue stripes on a red base. Then I did a gradient using gold glitter and I drew an eyes on my ring fingernail. I’m particularly proud of the eye. So yeah I did a blue eye even though I have brown eyes. But I feel like blue eyes just stand out in nail art.

The last time I draw eyes for a nail art, it was for the 2020 new year nail art as a sign of good luck. And well, let’s say it didn’t help AT ALL lol.

DOUBLE FACES ~

I said that I would try to do more of these faces designs that we see everywhere. I’m quite happy about the result. I really like these colors together. I would even say that this pink is probably my fave polish from Sephora.

For the faces, I first applied white polish on my middle and ring fingernails. Then, I did brush strokes using pink, blue and nude polishes. I finally used black to draw the faces. I applied pink polish on my pointer and pinky fingernails. I feel like the background of the faces gives off some artsy vibes, I like that lol.

TURQUOISE STONE MARBLE & AZTEC ~

I decided to take my revenge on marble since my last one wasn’t really a success lol. This attempt is better.

For this nail art, I created a turquoise stone effect for the background by dabbing a gold polish and doing some marbles. And because I’m still in my aztec mood, I added some aztec designs.

I was inspired by NailArt_ByGracie by Instagram.

I used the same red polish than in my last post. I really like it, it’s perfect for fall.

So for this nail art, I tried to do a marble design on my middle fingernail and well I’m not that convinced lol. I probably should have dilued the black polish to obtain a more subtle look.

What I like about mix’n’match mani is that you just have to associate the right colors together to have a good and effortless result.

I’LL BE THERE FOR YOU ~

I don’t know if it looks like it or not but my accent nail is supposed to be the frame on Monica’s appartment door. Friends is my all time favorite TV show, there is something so comforting about it. And yeah... Ross sucks lol and Chandler is *chef’s kiss*.

For the little story, I saw a Tiktok of a girl reproducing Monica’s door on her bedroom door. She even painted the frame herself, like she drew it and painted it. Not gonna lie, I don’t have the talent for that lol. My friend told me to just buy the frame so I did. I painted my door in purple and hang the frame. Now I have the dopest door of my whole house lol.

A DESERT - OR A METAPHOR FOR MY LOVE LIFE - ~

I guess here’s another episode of me stepping out of my comfort zone and doing designs on my nails I’m not used to. I have to say that I’m pretty proud of this one (except for the fact that my middle fingernail is broken and doesn’t match the length of the other nails). I came accross a design by Nailing_This_ on Pinterest and decided to give it a try.

So on my middle and ring fingernails I drawed a desert with some cactus which are a perfect representation of my personality. I have this thing called “resting bitch face” that makes me look very approachable to people like a cactus lol. For the little story, I bought one for my bedroom and my dad was like “why would you even buy that” and I said : “it just represents my personality so well”.

It’s probably the most cheesy nail art I’ve ever done lol. You might not believe it but the most difficult thing to draw for the unicorn was the eyelashes lol. Not surprising for me because I always struggled drawing eyes for animals.

HOLO TACO ~

My friends gifted me a set of 4 Holo Taco polishes for my birthday so thanks to them I have finally a real holographic nail polish lol. I have a few holo but they’re pretty deceiving tbh. Since I wasn’t able to win with my multiple participations to the Holo Taco competition, this gift was really perfect lol. If it wasn’t for them,  would probably have not bought it myself.

So for the baptism of this special polish, I did a colorful gradient on my middle and ring fingernails. Then using “Linear Holo Taco” and Kiko n°400, I did some V shapes. On my pointer and pinky fingernails, I applied the 2 same polishes I used to do the V shapes. I like how there is a contrast between the gradient and the holo.

I know Cristine said in one of her podcast that taking picture of holo in a lightbox wasn’t the best way to capture it. But I think the holo is still beautiful anyway.

THE HAPPIEST (& CLOSED) PLACE ON EARTH ~

I went to Disneyland with 2 friends in September so I did this -awful- mani. As you can see, I tried to do the famous Disney castle but I don’t know why I really struggled to do it. What’s funny is that I already did this castle on my nails a long time agoooo in high school I think and believe it or not I did it way better back in the days lol. Maybe I’m regressing lol. I was so pissed when I did this mani, at first I wanted to do like the shadow of the castle in black but it was a fail so I did this technique instead. I was so pissed that I didn’t do the accent nail at the same time than the other nails lol. I was THAT pissed lol. Like honestly, I did more complicated nail art, why did I struggle this much for this ? lol.

Maybe I can say that this nail art is “in memory of” Disney now that it’s closed ? Now we’re in quarantine in France so obviously Disney is closed. We wanted to go again but... *clown emoji*. On a brighter side, it was really cool to go there because with all the COVID thing, just a few people can enter in the park so we didn’t have to wait a long time for the attractions and also my friend made us some really cool Mickey masks which everyone was jealous of lol.

DAISY FLOWERS ~

Nope, this is still not the spooky nail art that you deserve but I swear tomorrow I will post my Halloween nail art so stay tuned for that!

So the 2nd lockdown in France has officially begun and so the serie “Jennifer posts everyday on lockdown because she’s been working from home since march therefore she’s been doing her nails A LOT instead of going out to meet people and so has a lot of content to share on her page”

For this nail art, I did a gradient using blue, neon yellow and orange. Then, I did some white daisies. I’m a lil pissed because the white polish I used isn’t opaque enough, you can see the neon yellow through. God knows I really like Maybelline polish but I really don’t recommand their white polish called “White Sail”. The thing with white polishes is that I often buy 4 or 5 bottles at once because I use this color A LOT. So I have to finish all the bottles even tho I don’t really like it lol.
