WE’LL BE COUNTING STARS ~

Usually, I’m not really a strass or stickers kind of girl when it comes to nail art. I like to do everything free-handed but I got these cute stars in an advent calendar and thought that they’d be perfect for nail art. They actually really do the trick! They turn this simple mani into something classy. Plus, it’s very easy to do.

Polish I used :

OPI : Bare My Soul

THE SWEET GRADIENT ~

So for this nail art, I did a gradient using red and pink which give a valentine’s day vibes I think. I do a lot of manicures with them vibes for someones who doesn’t love this celebration lol but it just that I love using red and pink together. On top of the gradient, I did pattern using white polish.

And because I don’t have a lot of imagination, I realized that this nail art is a reversed version of an old one that I did a long time ago.

Polishes I used :

OPI : Sweet Heart

BUT I GOT YOU THIS ROSE ~

Another flowers nail art! What can I say, I love doing them on my nails. I feel like it’s kinda effortless. They don’t have to look perfect because hey what flowers are perfect anyway ? That’s the nature beauty.

I like how the flowers turned out, I think that they’re delicate and cute. Also, the colors look great together.

SIMPLICITY IS KEY ~

Chevrons are really an oldie but a goodie of mine. It’s a design that I really liked doing back in the days. I guess I still can do them! I really like how they turned out, they look like I used some stencils but I swear they’re handed-painted!. Btw, it’s probably one of the most common things people assume about my nails. They think that I use stencils or stickers even for really detailed nail art. It kinda makes me mad lol. Like you spend hours on your nails for people to say that you use stickers.

INTO THE JUNGLE ~

Another nail art that I did to match my co-worker’s nails! We did it for the release of our company catalogue. For the little story, I work for a skills training company (not the sexiest field, I know lol) and each year we release a catalogue with all of our courses. The theme of this year catalogue was plants to symbolize the competences growth. So I reproduced the cover on my nails and my co-worker asked her nail lady to do it too. I was quite nervous to do it because I never did this type of nail art before but turned out the most difficult part was finding the right colors lol. I like them, they look cool I think. My co-workers were quite impressed because they looked like the cover.

SUNSET LOVER ~

We were in the space in my last post and for this nail art I take you a lil below, in other words, in the sky! I’m trying to make you travel through my nails, welcome on Jenny’s Airline!

I really like how it turned out. I was a little bit afraid for the cloud but I think that they look like cotton candy lol. I used a flat brush to create them. I was inspired by a DIY phone case video. I thought that the colors were pretty together and also I never tried to do a sunset on my nails so it was the time.

LOOK AT THE STARS, LOOK HOW THEY SHINE FOR YOU ~

I have a galaxy nails for you! I really like them. What I like is that it doesn’t involve gradient or anything which I find a little tricky for a galaxy design. Also, it’s pretty colorful and that’s not necessarily common for galaxy nails.

I already did a more classic galaxy nail art some times ago which I really like too.

This nail art is inspired by Banicured_ on Instagram.

THE COMEBACK OF THE OG ~

It's been a long time since I did my beloved "gradient + pattern" nail art. It's a design that I did quite a lot back in the days. Lately, I've been trying to step out from my comfort zone so that's why I didn't do this nail art as often as before.

For the gradient, I used the same colors than for this nail art because I thought that the colors were great together.

WATERFAIL ~

This is probably my 125497th attempt at watermarble and I still don’t want to acknowledge the fact that I’m just not good at this. But I won’t give up! I will make it right one day. I’m an aries so I’m just very persistent. In my defence, I think that the polishes I used weren’t good for watermarble. The orange polish seemed to be the only one right for this technique. It depends on the brands, the texture of the polish... Watermarble is already difficult enough and on top of that not all polishes work for it.

WHEN YOU CAN’T TRAVEL IRL SO YOU DO IT THROUGH YOUR NAILS ~

2020 was supposed to be the year of trips *blood tears*. This year, I was supposed to go to Spain and Vietnam. Obviously, it has been cancelled because of a certain pandemic.

Since I can’t travel and literally can’t move from my home, I figured out that my nails could be a way to compensate that. My last trip was in UK with my best friend last year. I don’t even know when we will be able to travel again.

This is not the first UK mani that I do on my page, I did one some times ago and I was really proud of this nail art!

THE CHECKED NAIL ART [with a polish that doesn’t check the boxes] ~

For today, I have a checked nail art inspired by Pshiiit_Polish. I used striping tapes for this mani and as you can see I have still a long way to go with it lol. This is definitely not the best striping tape nail art that I’ve done.

I just want to make a quick review of this nail polish from Little Ondine. It was actually the first time that I used this brand on all my nails. I used it for my donuts nail art but not enough to truly have an opinion on it. For the little story, I found this polish at Urban Outfitters on sale. I was pretty interested by this brand because the composition of their polishes are uncommon. They are water-based, non-toxic and odor-free. As a nail polish addict I had to test it, I was curious. Let me tell you guys, I’m really not that difficult when it comes to nail polish. If the color is pretty and the consistency not too sticky, I’m ok. I’m not even asking for a quick dry or long lasting nail polish because it’s the top coat job. This specific nail polish from Little Ondine doesn’t check the 2 important boxes for me. The color is not pretty, I won’t say it’s disgusting but it’s disgusting lol. I had to put a white polish under it to make it somehow opaque. As you can see it on my pointer and pinky fingernails, the application is not regular. I don’t know if it’s this polish that sucks or the entire brand. It’s true that nude polishes always require a lot of coats and are sometimes sticky but this one... is by far the worst polish I have ever tried in my life. I’m pretty convinced that this nail art could have looked better if it wasn’t for this nail polish.

SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW ~

Here’s a rainbow nail art for you! I really love doing rainbow on my nails, I like how it’s colorful. Maybe I’m a little bit weird but I like doing vertical stripes on my nails, I find it kinda therapeutic. This mani is really easy to do but I think the colors make it special.

For the little story, I wore a stripped shirt with similar colors at work while having these nails and everyone was like : “oh you matched your nails with your outfit!” and honestly it wasn’t planned. It wouldn’t come to my mind to match my nails with my outfit especially if people gonna notice it. My nails make me stand out alone enough and honestly sometimes they put me in awkward situations where people would stare at my nails and ask me million questions about them lol. It makes me wanna disappear. It’s not mean or what, people are interested and it’s flattering. It’s just that I don’t like being the main focus.

MMM DONUTS... *Homer’s voice* ~

So we’re still bored in the house and in the house bored eating anything to spend the time ? This donuts mani is for you!

I did this as a matching nail art with my co-worker. She found a picture of this mani on Pinterest and asked her nail lady to reproduce it on her nails. I did it at the same time so we could both have the same design on our nails.

I gotta the say that this kind of nail art is not really what I’m used to but it was cool letting my co-worker choose the design. It made me do something I would not have chosen myself.

THE BIRTHDAY FAIL ~

So today is my birthday and yay what a dream to spend your birthday in quarantine. I would never in a million years have imagined that one day I would spend my birthday in quarantine. Thanks to technology, it was actually cool. I virtually hung out with them and it was pretty cool.

For this nail art, I was inspired by Nyanails on Instagram but I totally failed it. Not gonna lie, I’m not keeping this design on my nails. As soon as my birthday is over, I’m going to take these off. I failed so hard that I didn’t even bother doing it on my other hand.

THE RAINBOW FRENCH ~
It seems like I have a thing for french manicures at the moment but not the boring and typical french with white and pink polish. No! I’m more about the revisited and creative french. I was inspired by BadGirlNails on Instagram for this nail art. When I saw this design on her feed, I knew I had to give it a try. It’s incredibly simple to do and it looks good. I love how the nude polish make the colors polishes pop. I think that I found my favorite nude polish. I used it in quite a few of my manicures and I really like it. It’s OPI “Samoan Sand”. Btw, we can still see the TJMaxxx price tag on the bottle -don’t ask me why I don’t take it off-. We love having beautiful nails on a budget.
