I PROMISE THAT YOU’LL NEVER FIND ANOTHER LIKE ME ~
You probably know that Taylor Swift dropped on friday her lead single “Me!” from her upcoming album TS7. She’s been teasing it for weeks on her social media. As she posted more and more pictures, the aesthetic of this new era became obvious : it will be pastel. And tbh, I was liking this vibe. I love everything pastel so I was looking forward the new single. The other day I was looking at her Instagram stories and saw the countdown for her single and got the idea to do a nail art inspired by it. So I thought about posting my mani alongside a review of the song (bet you didn’t know you were on Billboard.com haha ?).
So I listened to the song as soon as I woke up on Friday and let me tell you guys that I really didn’t like it. I found it too childish and cheesy. I was like : “damn, I planned to do a mani inspired by this song and I just don’t like it” but I did it anyway because I like the pastel aesthetic. Aside of the melody, I like the message of the song which is all about embracing yourself and celebrating it.
I’m glad that Taylor Swift is in a happier place now and that she’s finally back to pop. This is really a musical genre that she mastered on her album 1989. So I’m still looking forward this new era.
For this nail art, I did a marble by dropping polish on my nails. I tried to fade the colors together to create a gradient. At first, I wanted to a gradient using a sponge but I didn’t like the effect so I changed the technique. Then, I put a sparkle top coat which is really the cherry on top of this mani.
This is the second nail art inspired by a song that I do, the first was “Thank U, Next”. I really want to do more mani inspired by music. Nail art and music are really two things that I love so reunite them is really the best of the both worlds.
Polishes I used :
Essie : No Baggage Please
Essie : Using My Maiden Name
Maybelline : Mint For Life
L’Oréal : Waters Edge

LOST IN JAPAN ~
OPI recently organized a contest on their Instagram. The theme was “spring” so I posted a bunch of manis because I really wanted to win lol. And luckily, thanks to this nail art, I was one of the winners. Don’t ask me what was my reaction, I couldn’t scream or jump for joy because my boss was literally next to me talking about work so I just internalised everything lol. I was genuinely happy because I never win things. To win thanks to nail art is so special to me, it means that someone appreciate my work and that’s a great feeling. Plus, OPI had always been a brand that I liked. When I began to do nail art, buying a OPI polish was such a big deal for me and the fact that I won a contest organized by them is so cool for me. That might be silly but that's kinda a big deal for me lol.
I received a set of 4 polishes from the Tokyo collection as the prize. So with these 4 polishes, I did bows like the one we can see on kimonos. This mani is pretty similar to the one I did for Christmas.
I really like the colors that are in the set, they suit each other so well that it wasn’t hard to use them all in a mani.
Polishes I used :
OPI : Arigato From Tokyo
OPI : Rice Rice Baby
OPI : Another Ramen-tic Evening
OPI : All Your Dreams in Vending Machine
