HAPPY EW YEAR... I MEAN NEW YEAR ~

2020 is finally coming to an end oh my fucking god. I think I’m speaking for everybody when I say that we’re ready to kiss 2020 goodbye. But we’re not totally sure about 2021 either lol.

Like for anyone else, this year has been shitty but I have to say that in terms of nail art it was a good year. I have tried new techniques and stepped out of my comfort zone. I think that I never painted my nails that much in one year than in 2020 lol. The whole COVID, quarantine and working from home thing has something to do with it lol. It’s pretty ironic when you think of it because I never met less people than this year so I had no one to show my nails to irl lol. But I did them so I can stare at them during hours.

For this new year nail art, I went for the classic stuff aka glitter, stars and a clock. It’s a shame that the glitter are not that visible on the picture. I used a polish from OPI for this nail art. I got it in their “Shine Bright” advent calendar. When I saw it for the first time, I found it really pretty but tbh it’s prettier in the bottle than on the nails and the application was not it either, the texture was sticky. So I have mixed feelings about this polish. Usually, I like OPI polishes tho, let’s just say that this polish is like 2020... deceiving lol.

XMAS 2020 NAIL ART PT. 7 : A MERRY AND YUMMY CHRISTMAS ~

It’s Christmas Eve and so here’s the last nail art of the year. I decided to not use the traditional christmas colors and go full on girly like for this nail art I did last year

So for this mani, I did some gingerbread man, candy canes, stars, hearts and candy on my pointer and ring fingernails. I know I draw a lot of gingerbread man and candy canes for someone who’ve never ate neither of them but they are a staple on Christmas. On my middle fingernail, I did some stripes to represent a candy cane and finally put some pink glitter on my pinky fingernail.

I really like this mani, it’s definitely my fave one of this year.

XMAS 2020 NAIL ART PT. 6 : WINTER MIX’N’MATCH ~

This christmas serie is nearly coming to an end but don’t worry I have a last nail art to share with you tomorrow. And not to brag or what but the last one is definitely my fave.

Back to the nail art of the day, I did a a snowman on my pointer fingernail, a christmas tree on my middle fingernail and sweater pattern on my ring fingernail. I feel like this whole mani gives off christmas sweater vibes.

XMAS 2020 NAIL ART PT. 5 : PLAID & HOLLY WREATH ~

Christmas is closer and closer which means that I have another nail art for you! This one is probably one of my favorites of this year.

For this mani, I drew plaid pattern on my pointer and ring fingernails and a holly wreath on my middle fingernail. I remember when I was a kid we used to hang this on our front door. And on my pinky nail, I did a glitter gradient.

XMAS 2020 NAIL ART PT. 3 : DO YOU WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN ? ~

For this third christmas nail art, we’re building a snowman! -I just had a hard realization which is that Frozen 2 is one of the last movies I was able to see in a theater before all of that-.

For this nail art, I used a pink polish from OPI that I got in their “Shine Bright” advent calendar. I got it for a good price thanks to my best friend who found an interesting deal for me. I only had Ciaté advent calendar until now so I’m glad I could try one from another brand. I know that pink isn’t necessarily a christmas color but I saw this design on Pinterest and really liked it. I got this polish around the same time and it was exactly the same color as the picture so it was definitely a sign for me to do this nail art. I feel like the pearl finish makes this color a great fit for christmas as if it gives like a frozen effect to the mani. I really like how the whole mani turned out.

Next week, I will be posting everyday till Christmas Eve to share more magic I guess lol and create a little advent calendar.

XMAS 2020 NAIL ART PT. 2 : THE POLAR BEAR IN THE SNOW ~

Here’s the second christmas nail art of the serie. So for this mani, I was inspired by HannahRoxIt’s tuto that she posted on her IGTV. I adapted her designs for my long nails. For this nail art, I used for the very first time glitter loose powder that I had in the Ciaté 2015 (wow!) Advent Calendar. I’m not saying that this is the first and last time that I’m gonna use glitter loose powder but all I’m saying that this is really messy to use lol. And it’s not even that visible on the picture lol. But I swear, irl it gave that frosty effect which is really perfect for this nail art.

XMAS 2020 NAIL ART PT. 1 : CANDY CANES & GINGERBREAD MAN ~

Christmas season is definitely here and so are Christmas manis!

I'm not you know THAT fan of Christmas, the one who's excited about christmas songs and movies. But Christmas nail art just hit different, there is something special about it.

So as my first Christmas nail art of the season, I decided to do a yummy one with candy canes and a gingerbread man (funny because I never ate neither of them). I really like it turned out and the colors are really great together.
