THE CUTEST TREATS FOR THE CUTEST HOLIDAY ~

When a celebration nail art chases another... After Lunar New Year here's my Valentine's Day nail art. I love the aesthetic around this holiday : the colors, the hearts... For every celebration, I like to do a food version because what we'll be without food lol. So I did some Valentine's Day treats and I pretty nailed it (got it lol?) I think. I have just some doubts about my ring fingernail. I tried to do a chocolate box.

This nail art is so Barbie coded and it's definitely intended! At first, I wanted to reproduced the Barbie nail art that Coewless posted on her IG page but I wasn't satisfied with the result so I decided to do it my way. I'm really happy with the design I came up with. The colors look so great together. I especially like my pointer and middle fingernails.

She has eyelash extension on lol.

HAPPY GALENTINE’S DAY! ~

I’m back with my annual dramatic ass anti Valentine’s Day nail art. Unlike the precedent ones, I used the Valentine’s Day aesthetic. For someone who’s not really a fan of this celebration, I actually like its aesthetic : the colors, the hearts... I even used a nail polish from Essie 2019 Valentine’s Day collection. I bought a bunch of polishes from their Valentine’s Day collection because I liked the packaging lol. Marketing really does something to me. 

So for this nail art, I did some broken hearts (again, so dramatic lol. Already preparing myself for the comments at work) on a pink and red base. Then I put the glitter from Essie.

I wasn’t going for this design at first, I wanted to do like negative space hearts but it turned out really shitty so I did these instead. I’m satisfied with the final result.

Like I say it every year, love yourself or at least try. I know how hard it can be and especially within this society that can make us feel not worthy but just know you are.

The rule is “Valentine’s Day nail art are ok except on Valentine’s Day” lol. I guess it’s like that when you like love aesthetic but not love itself lol. That’s probably why I love rom com and love songs so much.

This design is pretty popular at the moment for nails, clothes, decoration... So I really wanted to try it on my nails. I think I did a pretty good job!

As you probably know (if not then I’m happy to inform you that you’re living under rock), Olivia Rodrigo dropped her debut album on Friday May 21st “Sour” and boy that album is great, especially for a debut album. It’s been a while since I enjoyed a debut album like that, the last being “Camila” by Camila Cabello (yes I’m a pop music junky). 

The lyrics are really good, some of them left me shook like who hurt you girl!!!!! (we all know who is it). My fav songs are : “brutal”, “traitor”, “drivers license”, “deja vu”, “good 4 u”, “happier” and “jealousy, jealousy”. That girl really got me missing an ex I never had lol. 

“brutal” is definitely the song I relate to the most. Even tho she’s talking about her teenage years, the lyrics are also valid for people in their twenties I think. People always talk about the fact that these years are supposed to be the best when we have it tough. Adulthood is definitely brutal lol. This song would have been my anthem when I was teenager lol.

For the nail art, I was inspired by the cover of the album and by the mural her team put together in London to promote the album. I really like the aesthetic of the album with the stickers.

WHO RUN THE WORLD ? GIRLS! ~

Last year, I wanted to do a nail art for International Women’s Day but I didn’t have any idea. This year I finally found the inspiration, I came across a picture on BabeAndBeauty IG page that she posted for Valentine’s Day and thought that it would be a good idea for Women’s Day. Basically, the picture was hearts with empowering message. 

This nail art is kinda the opposite of the nail art I did for 2020 Valentine’s Day. The messages I wrote in the hearts are more positive let’s say lol. You have to excuse me for my bad handwriting, it’s not beautiful when I write on a paper so obviously it won’t look good on my nails lol. It’s so hard to write on your nails you gotta give me credit for writing on my BOTH hands lol.

I’m just gonna wrap this post by saying that everyday is our day and we’re strong and independent. By “we” I mean, girls, trans, non-binary people who identify themselves as women.

*The movie Valentine’s Day on so the mood is set to talk about my (valentine’s day?) nail art*

So yay I’m not really a Valentine’s Day person but I’m definitely a cheesy movie kind of girl. 

This is really funny to me how dramatic this nail art is like me I guess lol ? As if anyone has ever broke my heart lol. This is the second time that I draw broken hearts on my nails for Valentine’s Day. I first did it 2 years ago, the result was pretty shitty. I didn’t keep the mani really long lol. I prefer this one way better! 

Since 2019, it’s kinda my tradition to do like an Anti Valentine’s Day nail art like yay for obvious reasons lol. My rule is I can do Valentine’s Day nail art whenever I want except on the 14 of February lol. Last year, I did a candy hearts inspired nail art but instead of the traditional “love you” messages, I wrote “LOL” or “NO”, stuff like that and my co-workers didn’t get it at all lol. It pisses me off when people don’t get my nail art lol. Some of them didn’t understand that it was an Anti Valentine’s Day nail art, others didn’t get why I wrote “LOL”. 

So as you probably understood it, I don’t relate to this celebration for its principal definition I guess but I always feel the need to put my twist on it lol. Valentine’s Day should not make us feel bad for being single, for not knowing what being in a relationship is like, for not wanting to mingle or for not talking to anyone. All of it is ok unlike what the society or social medias want us to believe. We’re complete on our own and it’s way more important to work on ourselves because *me, myself and I is all I got in the end* as Queen B would say.

Instead of celebrating the love we would give to a significant other, maybe we should celebrate self-love and body positivity because the relationship that we have with ourselves is so important. In this race of finding the “good one”, we sometimes forget to be good with ourselves first.
